Paul Rudd is People’s Sexiest Man Alive

People magazine has bestowed the title of “Sexiest Man Alive” 2021 to actor Paul Rudd.

The 52-year-old movie star – known for his 30-year prolific career, his most recent role is playing the character “Ant-Man” in the Marvel Comics films – has accepted the honour with his trademark self-deprecating humour.

Talking to the US media outlet on Wednesday, 10 November, he humbly acknowledged the accolade.

Rudd said: “I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?’ … There are so many people that should get this before me.”

He wasn’t the only one surprised at the news. His wife of 18 years, Julie Yaeger, – with whom he also shares two children – was also dumbfounded.

The “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” actor explained what she had said: “She was stupefied. But you know she was very sweet about it. After some giggling and shock, she said ‘Oh, they got it right.’ And that was very sweet.”
